NTRIP setup: Spectra Geospatial SP85 with Origin
Spectra's Origin field software works a lot like Trimble Access. You set the internet data link inside your RTKReal-time kinematic. A way to make GPS accurate to about an inch by getting live corrections from a nearby base station.More survey style and add an NTRIP correction source.
Steps
- Tap the menu, select Settings / Survey styles, pick your RTK style and tap Edit.
- Select Rover data link and set Type to Internet connection.
- Open the GNSSGlobal Navigation Satellite System. The general name for GPS (USA) and the other satellite systems like GLONASS, Galileo and BeiDou.More correction source and tap New. Set Use RTX (internet) to No and Use NTRIP to Yes.
- Enter your NTRIP username and password, and the IP Address and IP PortA number that tells your device which "door" on the caster server to use. For NTRIP it's often 2101.More from your provider. Optionally turn on Connect directly to Mount pointOne specific correction stream on a caster, like one channel on a radio. Each one comes from a certain station or network setup.More and type it in.
- Pick the GNSS internet source: Controller internet (controller SIM or Wi-Fi) or a receiver connection. Spectra says Bluetooth DUN through the receiver needs an SP85.
- Tap Accept, then Store. Start the survey and wait for a FixThe best RTK status. The receiver has finished its math and your position is good to a couple of centimeters.More.
Before you start, get five things from your provider: the CasterThe internet server that hands out correction streams. Your rover logs in to it, like tuning into a radio station.More host (server address), port, username, password and mount point (the correction channel). What these mean.
