NTRIP setup: Leica GS18 / GS16 with Leica Captivate
On a Leica RoverThe receiver that moves around the job, like a survey pole or a drone. The internet can come from the controller (CS) or from a SIM in the GS receiver.
Steps
- Get online first: in Settings > Connections, set up the CS internet (controller) or GS internet (SIM in the receiver).
- Go to Settings > Connections > RTK rover wizard and choose Create a new profile.
- Pick the internet connection you set up as the way CorrectionsLive info from a base station about how far off the satellite signals are, so your rover can cancel out the error.More come in.
- Create a new server: type the CasterThe internet server that hands out correction streams. Your rover logs in to it, like tuning into a radio station.More address and PortA number that tells your device which "door" on the caster server to use. For NTRIP it's often 2101.More, turn on NTRIP, and enter your NTRIP user ID and password.
- Open the source table and pick your Mount pointOne specific correction stream on a caster, like one channel on a radio. Each one comes from a certain station or network setup.More. (The manual says mount points are listed with their name and distance.)
- Finish the wizard, then use Fn Connect to connect and wait for a FixThe best RTK status. The receiver has finished its math and your position is good to a couple of centimeters.More.
Before you start, get five things from your provider: the caster host (server address), port, username, password and mount point (the correction channel). What these mean. Find them on each provider page.
