NTRIP setup: DJI Mavic 3 Enterprise (M3E)
The Mavic 3E needs the DJI RTKReal-time kinematic. A way to make GPS accurate to about an inch by getting live corrections from a nearby base station.More Module attached on top. Until it is, the RTK settings won't show up. The drone flies from the DJI RC Pro Enterprise controller running DJI Pilot 2, which gets online through Wi-Fi.
Steps
- Attach the RTK Module to the drone and turn it on.
- Make sure the controller is linked to the drone and connected to the internet.
- In the DJI Pilot 2 app, open Camera View. Tap the settings menu (…) and pick RTK.
- Turn RTK positioning on. Set the RTK service type to Custom Network RTK. (Don't pick D-RTK 2 Mobile Station. That is DJI's own portable base.)
- Type in your provider's CasterThe internet server that hands out correction streams. Your rover logs in to it, like tuning into a radio station.More host, PortA number that tells your device which "door" on the caster server to use. - Wait for it to connect. When the drone's status says FixThe best RTK status. The receiver has finished its math and your position is good to a couple of centimeters.More, the CorrectionsLive info from a base station about how far off the satellite signals are, so your rover can cancel out the error.More are working.
- Keep the controller on and online for the whole flight. If RTK is turned on but no corrections are coming in, the drone may refuse to take off. Turn RTK off when you aren't using it.
Before you start, get five things from your provider: the caster host (server address), port, username, password and mount point (the correction channel). What these mean. Find them on each provider page.
